Fannish History

We've always been the type of people to fixate on fiction, often throwing our whole self into these imaginary worlds as a form of escapism. Fiction always felt safer than reality, and we spent most of our childhood absorbed in TV shows, books, video games, and - when those things weren't available to us - our own imagination.

As a result of this, we often place fiction on the same priority level as reality - or sometimes even above it! This is part of why we have so many fictives in our system, as well as fictionkin. It's also part of why fiction and fandom is such a massive part of our life!

Our earliest "fannish" interests that we can remember were Harvest Moon (especially HM64), Legend of Zelda, and Spiderman. That said, our early interactions with fandom were spotty, what with having extremely limited access to technology, as well as our extreme fear of interacting with others on the Internet after an incident with a stranger online. So for most of our life, we sat back and observed fandom for a distance. It wasn't until summer of 2025 that we would create a Tumblr account and begin actively participating in fandom (our first being the ISAT fandom), including drawing and posting fanart, writing fanfiction, and creating fan shrines (like these ones!).
